On September 30th and October 1st, 2017, the 2nd Rum & Whiskey Festival took place at Zappeion Palace in Athens. Mastiha Project and Oz Cocktail Bar had the honor to be invited in this show to present the act of projecting and promoting mastiha in the bar industry. The jointly organized Rum & Whiskey Festival, initiated by Baba Au Rum (50's world best bars) by Thanos Prunaros (owner) and George Kouvelis, gave Oz team the chance to meet and communicate with dozens of professionals in the industry.
Through many discussions, several suggestions have been exchanged on the further use of mastiha in the bartending area as well as the general enhancement of the category “Mastiha liqueurs and spirits”. In the specially designed pavilion, visitors could come in contact with a real (non-productive) Skinos tree, with the tools of cultivation, skinos seeds and of course with a lot of mastiha at the various stages of cleaning. Bartenders and bar enthusiasts have been able to try out some suggestions from Oz team to use in their bars such us natural mastiha, mastiha oil, mastiha water and mastiha seeds, through various modern methods of making homemade ingredients, used in bars nowadays, collecting encouraging comments from renowned professionals in the field.
Mastiha Project, participating in yet another targeted exhibition of projecting and promoting mastiha in the bar industry, confirms its introduction to the strands of modern bartending, following the market trends for the common benefit of all the mastiha players involved.
